According to data gathered by gaming authorities and some advance blackjack players, the Blackjack Hall of Fame started in 2002 when several outstanding and excellent players were nominated to be included in the list of the best blackjack players of all times. To be more accurate, 21 blackjack experts and authors are nominated and seven of them got lucky to be inducted as members of the Blackjack Hall of Fame at the Blackjack Ball in January 2003.

From 2004 to 2006, the people behind the organization of the Blackjack Hall of Fame decided to include two experts and players to the list each year. Afterwards, they all agree to limit the number of inductees to only one in the succeeding years.

Al Francesco, Peter Griffin, Arnold Snyder, Edward O. Thorp, Ken Uston, Stanford Wong and Tommy Hyland are the blackjack players and authors who have been inducted in 2002. In 2004, Max Rubin and Keith Taft are voted by players to be included in the list. Julian Braun and Lawrence Revere became members of the Blackjack Hall of Fame in 2005. James Grosjean and John Chang were inducted in 2006 and 2007, respectively. The latest addition to the Blackjack Hall of Fame are Roger Baldwin, Herbert Maisel, Wilbert Cantey and James McDermott.

As mentioned, the Blackjack Hall of Fame is not limited to blackjack players. Blackjack analysts and authors can also be nominated, voted and inducted to the Blackjack Hall of Fame given that they have great contributions to the game. Each year, a new member is included in the list so blackjack players and analysts are highly encouraged to give their best and excel in the game.
